Computer Microphone?

I have a computer microphone. It is pretty old. One end is the small microphone part and the wire ends in a plug like in speakers to plug into the back of the computer. I plugged it in, and I dont really know what to do, any advice would be appreciated.

Just make sure you look closely at the proper connection for the microphone. If you bring up your sound recorder from the accessories, you can check to see if you have it connected or go to the control panel and go to the sound icon and check your microphone
