Will a shure sm58 microphone work by just plugging it into a guitar amp?

Ok, so I'm planning on getting a shure sm58 microphone but I just want to know if I plug it into my amp if it will produce vocal sounds?

Not wanting to record or anything but just sing straight from my amp... no other instruments hooked

The SM58 has a balanced low impedance output, and is designed to plug into an amp (or mixing board) with an XLR 3 pin jack. A guitar amp is a 1/4" unbalanced high impedance input, so you can't plug it straight in (unless you have an acoustic guitar
